Here is how I mounted a CB radio in-dash in a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Nobody makes a bracket to mount 2 radios in dash, so I had to make a custom bracket. Not too difficult, just make sure to get the holes lined up & bend it right. Was important to get the 2 radios close together vertically so they will both fit into the opening. Still needed to slightly trim the plastic Metra faceplace a little bit. It was helpful to have that kit, even though I did not use all the parts. I put the CB on the bottom so the mic cord would not block access to the stereo.
I chose a President Johnson II CB radio because of 3 stand out features; ASC automatic squelch, front facing speaker, and built in SWR meter, which is really helpful so you don’t have to pull the radio out of the dash just to adjust the SWR.
I made a custom antenna mount and U-bolted it to the roof rack. Later added a Lift & Lay stud mount, so the antenna can fold down.
